Welcome to Baker Lake
We are a community-based recipe project with a mission to build and share a cookbook filled with delicious recipes that showcase the availability within our community of healthy country foods like caribou, muskox, and fish.
Cooking and sharing meals with others is an important part of building strong, healthy communities. That's why we invite you to join us on our journey to collect and share recipes that bring people together. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a beginner in the kitchen, there's a place for you in our cookbook. We hope this becomes a collection of flavorful recipes that are accessible to everyone.
We started the Community Cookbook to Raise awareness of the Baker Lake Champions of Health Program by holding in-person and virtual youth-led cooking demonstrations to showcase our community’s favourite country food recipes in stores, online, and in recipe books. We hope that this website will provide an easy-to-access platform where people come together to share their food knowledge and e healthy food choices.
Join us in creating a cookbook that reflects the diversity and richness of our community.
Thank you for visiting our website, and we look forward to cooking with you!
