Land and People Planning (LP) is a planning firm focused on improving project sustainability and performance through greater participation and interaction with impacted communities. LP specializes in urban planning along with consultation, facilitation, social assessment, social management, community design and local economic development services. LP is a majority Inuit-owned entity with Nunavut-focused operations led by Peter Tapatai.
Based in Baker Lake, NU and Toronto, ON, LP and its team have worked on behalf of the UN, World Bank, DFID, International Financial Corporation and Global Affairs Canada as well as a multitude of not-for-profit, public and private sector clients operating in rural, urban, emerging and post-conflict contexts.
LP combines its expertise in supporting rapidly-changing communities with its extensive experience leading participatory planning processes in support of domestic and international investment and public sector projects. LP assists its clients and impacted communities find common ground, realize project benefits and create lasting legacies.
